Crafted by one designer to convey the recording not to reinterpret it, there is consistent musicality right across the Harbeth range. The selection of the optimum Harbeth for your system is just a matter of size, power handling, and budget as all excel at believable, natural, realistic, engaging sound.
The fantastic tonality, the selection and use of the finest materials throughout and sourced from the best suppliers around the world all combine to a lifetime of listening satisfaction and pride of ownership. Customers regularly comment that their Harbeths are the best investment money can make.
The Monitor 30.1 is a perfect all-round solution for natural sound in a modest cabinet size and is especially convenient in a wide-range 5-7-11 or Dolby Atmos™ multi-channel sound authoring system.
Natural and accurate sound are not, in fact, essential requirements for a studio monitor. Fashion and taste feature highly in their selection. Harbeth speakers take monitoring to another level. They're uniquely easy to live with, coloration is very low, and the entire audio spectrum is correctly balanced. Instruments and voices sound real. Listening fatigue eliminated - a Harbeth trademark.
It's easy to claim that a speaker is a true monitor. In reality, if a speaker has a sonic personality, as many so-called monitors intentionally do, it is likely that the sound recording will itself be colored. For example, if the monitor loudspeaker speaker lacks detail, the sound engineer may boost the mid and top frequencies in the recording we buy to compensate for his speaker. If the monitor is bass shy, inappropriate bass could be added to the recording. Confidence in the monitors to 'tell it like it is' is vital if a genuinely high-fidelity sound recording is the objective.
Very few loudspeakers are capable of reproducing human voice convincingly, but that's a core capability of a Harbeth. If a speaker doesn't sound truly convincing on speech - and most loudspeakers don't - then natural and lifelike music reproduction is impossible.
Harbeth's well-crafted dispersion and perfectly integrated bass/mid/top balance ensures they're the best choice for speech and music monitoring in even sparsely treated acoustic environments. Up close and personal they make great nearfield monitors too, thanks to the seamless blending of the drive units. Another Harbeth speciality.
Trusted in live recordings and post-production where balance mistakes are frustrating and can be costly, Harbeth monitors are designed to replay the authentic live sound from the microphones to the sound engineer as-is. Artistic decisions can then be made based on the music, not the characteristics of the speakers.
