i bought a 7 es 3 speakers (6ohm impedence), and i have got a copland integrated amplifier cta 405, with two port 4 ohm and 8 ohm i found the 4 ohm output better then 8 ohm port. The sound is more focussed and thight although the 'correct' speker output impedance is strickly speaking the one that delivers the higher volume (the 8ohm option)
i felt the lower impedance outputs did sound slightly better controlled, why?
can i go for the 4 ohm setting?
thank you - 'Pava' - Italy

I think that there will be more current available from the 4 ohm setting. This may mean that the bass unit has, as you say, more control.

In fact, you should feel free to experiment with 4 or 8 ohm settings - no damage can result as the speaker load is about 6 ohms.
