Will Harbeth produce a solid state amplifier to match the Super HL5? A minimal design consisting of a volume and selector knobs. Thanks
As I've explained here (http://www.harbeth.co.uk/usergroup/showthread.php?t=466) recently, we would never produce an amplifier with only a volume control. To do so would be illogical. Since you do not listen in a perfect acoustic (an anechoic chamber) you are far better having some tone controls. They allow you to adjust the room/speaker interface in your favour, to your taste, just as you like. A tilt control is best of all. Why torture yourself with sub-optimal listening because you have no means of controlling the sound? Why wear the same clothes every day when you can chose between an infinite number of colours and textures?
But we have no plans to produce an amplifier. But if we did, it would have some basic tone controls.
