I've read where the cabinet finishes simply need a wipe down with water, but I guess old habits die hard, I keep wanting to give them a rub with some lemon oil or something similar. How do others care for the finish?
Thanks
Hey, jdinco
There's info about this somewhere in the archives here. From what I remember, a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is what Alan Shaw recommends. These cabinets are thin walled and designed to resonate with the music, and lemon oil or furniture polish will "clog" the pores of the wood, thus diminishing their resonant capacity. As with all things Harbeth, "less is more".
Enjoy!
