Harbeth SHL-5 Eucalyptus (bought SHL5 after compared M401 v. QUAD)

My friend setup just bought speaker after listened my 40.1, previous speaker was Quad electrostatic after that he realized that Harbeth more fullrange than Quad ESL

I do however find it a litte amusing that you put the speaker cables onto these little thrones. Seems a very asian thing to do as you see it very often on photos from asian countries. Are you sure it makes a difference?

First time I am seeing a picture of the Quad 606. I have a 2004 model 909 myself, and it is a great little amp. Very little difference in looks, and it seems Quad just turned the name around and made it slightly smaller to go from 606 to 909!

I am guessing the cable arrangement is for aesthetics and the clean, well organized look.

On synthetic carpet, cable elevators can make a small difference to the sound: more open and less smearing.
