Bluegrass - I stand to be corrected, but it's only an issue (potentially) if your monitor screen is a CRT. If it's an LCD screen, as the vast majority are by now, I believe it will be entirely unaffected by the speaker's magnetic field, even if the speaker is unshielded.

thats good to know, thanks.. I have two LCD screens in my studio placed between the monitor speakers.
